Privacy policy: Status Saver

Status Saver (Android package zw.co.statussaver.app) is a free app for keeping the WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business statuses you've viewed, made by PocketLabs Tech ("we"), Shop 14, Bulawayo Centre, cnr 9th Avenue & Joshua Nkomo Street, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. This policy explains what the app collects and why.

What the app reads

The app reads only the WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business statuses folders that you approve in the Android folder picker. It doesn't read your chats, contacts or the rest of your files.

What stays on your phone

Statuses are copied into the app's private storage so they can be previewed. Copies you didn't save are deleted once WhatsApp removes the original. Statuses you save are also added to your phone's gallery. We never receive your statuses: the app doesn't upload them, it has no accounts or sign-in, and we run no servers for it.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. The app has no analytics of its own.

Ads (Google AdMob)

The app is free because it shows ads served by Google AdMob. To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Google's software in the app may collect:

• your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers;
• your approximate location, worked out from your IP address;
• how you interact with ads, and diagnostic data such as crashes and app performance.

This data goes to Google, not to us. Google's use of it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and in the Google Privacy Policy. Data is encrypted in transit.

Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent before ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time under Settings → Ad privacy choices. Anywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads).

Sharing

When you share or repost a status, Android's share sheet sends it to the app you pick, which has its own privacy policy. Statuses belong to the people who posted them, so ask for permission before you save or share someone else's status.

Children

The app is meant for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13.

Deleting your data

We hold no data about you to delete. Uninstall the app or clear its storage to remove its private copies. Statuses saved to your gallery stay there until you delete them. To delete data Google holds, use your Google account settings or reset your advertising ID as described above.
